It took some time for people to accept it, so it needed time to mass produce it. At the same time, traders from Belgium imported machine-made carpets, which were of high quality and suitable.
This issue made the purchase of machine-made carpets instead of hand-woven carpets suitable and popular for Iranian people. Machine-made carpets that were sold in the market had superior advantages over hand-woven carpets, and that was that they were produced and sold to the market at a high speed, and that they had a cheaper and more suitable price than hand-woven carpets. They were.
The reason for the reasonable price of machine-made carpets was that machine-made carpets were produced in factories with synthetic fibers, which had a more reasonable price than natural fibers, and they were also mass-produced. It should be mentioned that more investment in this industry made the city of Kashan known as the hub of the world's machine carpet production, or rather, the capital of the world's machine carpet.

The first carpet weaving machine in Iran

All the accessories that are in the space around us have their own history, among them, the age of the machine carpet in Iran goes back to about 50 years ago. As mentioned, the first machine-made carpet was woven and offered to the market in Kashan with jacquard velvet weaving machines. The fibers of these types of carpets were very shiny and their piles were usually short and light weight. It was at the same time that merchants imported carpets with exactly the same specifications and even higher quality from countries like Belgium to Iran, which were very well received by the people.

When the owners of the industry saw the taste and reception of the people and became aware of it, they decided to invest in the field of machine carpet production. This issue led to the establishment of the first machine-made carpet factory by the Lajordi family under the name of Kashan Industries Company (Ravand Carpet) and thus the first machine-made carpet was produced and presented to the Iranian market in 1353.

Designs of the first machine carpet

In the following, we must say that the modern and new types of carpets that entered the market were very different from hand-woven carpets, but with the passage of time and the increase in density, they succeeded in producing various designs of hand-woven carpets. In the sense that the initial designs that were implemented on these types of carpets were basic and very simple, but now we must say that with the help of foreign and modern weaving machines, carpets with different numbers of combs including 700 comb carpets have been made. , produce carpets of 1000 combs and 1200 combs. These types of carpets are also known as hand-woven carpets, because the more density and number of combs they have, the more micro-texture they will have, and therefore the designs of hand-woven carpets are easier to implement on them.
The first machine-made carpet in Iran was woven in the city of Kashan, and its first model dates back to around 1350. It can also be safely said that it was the first machine-produced carpet in the Middle East. Because Kashan city was considered the beating heart of the country's textile industry, it had many spinning and weaving factories, which in a way took the first place in the country's textile industry. It is worth mentioning that this issue provided an introduction to weaving the country's first machine-made carpet in Kashan city.
The first machine with the help of which they were able to produce the first machine-made carpet was a French machine called Jacquard and owned by a French person named "Marie Jacquard". The outstanding feature of the most basic machine-made carpet in Iran was that it was very light in weight, containing short piles, produced with the help of synthetic fibers, and also of good woven quality.
This problem caused civilization and industry to enter carpet weaving and weave it in new ways. Another prominent feature of Kashan's first machine-made carpet was that it was produced at a very high speed.
